Day 10 of the Spirit Moon, Year 2394A.S.
...the others taunt an mimic me from afar, keeping their distance from the "bastard child". It was not my fault that my mother had to fall for the love song of a traveling minstrel and be seduced to his every pleasure. It was that..that Signian bard that brought me into this world of pain; the Signian that drove my mother to be stoned and beaten on a daily basis for being a whore.
If it wasn't for the mercy of Master Atreus, allowing me to stay in the library as long as I keep an eye on the books. I've grown quite drawn by these words on the page; the stories of wars long forgotten and treasures of plenty. One day I will set out on my own from these cursed caverns and venture to far away lands. I have nothing left in life but my books and the care of Atreus... if I did not have those I don't know what would happen with me...
Day 3 of the Mother Moon, Year 2400A.S.
...I've overheard some traders from the mainland speaking of the price of literature and written manuscripts. With that type of money I could leave this forsaken cave of solitude; I could then set sail on the adventures I dream of, and record my journeys on parchment so I may one day be immortalized in history like the great heroes. I know of a book that Master Atreus keeps locked up in his office. It is a book most prized amongst the Grey Elves. It speaks of the great battles of this once thriving kingdom. It also speaks of songs and hymns which if read or sang properly can imbue the reader with great mental and physical strength. I've glanced through this book several times over, and I know many of the lyrics by heart and know of the power granted. These elves have lost touch with their culture, so whats this book mean to them? Well, I'll know what it means to me. Freedom. Freedom from this damn rock I regretfully call home... Tonight is the night. I will be free by daylight among the finest passenger ships. I will be dining on fine boar and quail, sipping the finest of wines and mead...

Jace, I really like how you've been going about this. I just want to see you take it all the way and really finish it off right. You have a great setup here for a very funny and memorable introduction.
