“…and this is our chapel dedicated to Shalukarth” said Merhit as he contiuned to take Kade and the other new kids around the compound. “It is she that guides, us, keeps us safe, keeps us hidden. She gives us her blessings of shadow as we move through the night. We have a weekly mass held here at midnight, it is manditory for everyone to be here, in their best clothes, and on their BEST behavior.”

Sitting in the middle of a busy market, trying to absorb the language of these Alk’Harians, Kade let his mind wander about the events of late, and how they might have been effected by the past, and what might be in the future. He let his eyes close, and let the sounds roll into his ears. It is a good language, pretty easy to pick up, if you know what you’re listening for, but then Kade had always bee quite adept at learning new languages.

All Kade wanted was to settle down, stop adventuring, make a living like a regular person. The more he had let his mind run since he left the compound in the desert, the more his mind came to water. He wanted to have a nice mill on the river, or get a boat and some nets and fish. It seemes as though Preseka would laugh in his face at every turn. He wanted water, Fate brought him to the desert. He wanted to settle down, Fate brought him to situations that he would have to continue his same distructive ways.

He mused if it was Shalukarth who had intervined. If the Lady of shadows was doing this to him, for turning his back on her. She was always a fickle and cruel mistress, and did not take well to those that had left her service, even him, especially him, as he was one of her favorites. The gift of the shadows had never left him though.

If this is what fate wants, this is what she shall get. If he can’t be the ordinary average pesant, the he will be the best killer the world has known. They want the killer, the destructive force in him to come out, then this is what fate will get out of him. This is what the world will get out of him.
